Served by the pitcher, this is a bar drink I'd discovered, a few months ago, that (according to my research) is still relatively obscure, and that I feel needs to be shared with the world.
For reference, you need the following to make a 60 oz. pitcher of it: 1. 1/2 pitcher Alexander Keith's India Pale Ale (or, if unavailable, another pale ale; 30 oz. = 2 1/2 bottles of beer) 2. 1 bottle Seagram Wildberry Cooler (or, if unavailable, 1 cup Wildberry Purée + 1 oz. vodka to substitute
) 3. 1 oz. rye whiskey (any kind) 4. 7-UP (or, if unavailable, another lemon-lime soda; enough to fill the pitcher to the top after the other ingredients are combined, or approximately 24 oz. = 2 (two) 355 mL cans). The beer should be the first of the ingredients to be added to the pitcher, then th
e Wildberry cooler, the rye, then the 7-UP (the end result tends to have a lot of head, especially if done out of this order). Some of the recipes I've come across substitute ginger ale for 7-UP, and a few suggest adding a pinch of allspice, to season. You can do what you like, though my advice, ha
ving tried both, is to do neither. Features music acquired and used with permission of Commodore 64 composer Martin Galway.
