if you had a huge diamond, that was precious. would you show it off? or would you keep it covered so you wouldnt want ppl to see it? the viel is a guard for women. men's #1 desire is women. maryam mother of isa(jeses) wore the viel, to keep her beauty. why doesnt anybody say things bout sisters in christianity? they dress the same way. if twins were walking down an alley, one dressd in tight, skimpy clothes, the otehr covering herself. who would a man look at with a desired look?

this video has nothing to do with clothes...its not about what a man thinks or how he reacts to clothing.This is about the feminine holding a divine standard. there are a large percentage of men and women who use their sexuality to control and victimize or to survive being victims (covered in fear, or exposed in shame)... this is a video about embodied confidence and a sacred connection to the feminine, goddess through the divine...not about what she is wearing....see beyond the viel..

Sorry, kosmiccitizen, but the freedom that islam gives a woman has been given to any women at any time in history. here's why, look at what is happening in polygamist groups, n what's happening in churches, little girls are being raped, while in islam girls are kept safe. Noone wears scarf in my family, but I, without anyone telling me, started wearing hijab. n now i am very happy i did.

You're missing my point. What is desirable for one, will not necessarily be so for another. So, what is so "liberating" for one, may very well be undesirable and constraining to another. This is all I am saying. Unfortunately, like the other "Abrahamic religions", Islam is not satisfied with making subjective or relative truth claims, but believes it has a corner on the particulars of how everyone ought to live. That is a conceit, and a most self serving one at that.

in this case we r talking about a religion, if a religion is perfect then what it says is perfect. If what it says in a religion is perfect then the religion is perfect. In this case we are talking about what God ordered his creatrs to do, I know tat some ppl just go beyond wats ordered and do lots of bad things in name of religion, but in islam God is not just telling one person to do something, he is telling eveyone to do it, and the fact that there r thusands of girls beng raped is an exmpl.

Thousands of girls are raped by Muslim men, hijabs or no. Indeed, many Muslim cultures seem fond of blaming the girls for their new condition of "impurity". Yes yes, I know this isn't the "true Islam"...blah blah. Just like it isn't the "true Christianity" that ordered the Crusades. It seems we only get to blame homosexuals, pagans, and atheists for any sins committed under "their" watches. And yes, I'm aware Islam claims to be for everyone - and that's my big problem - IT'S NOT.

I'm happy to let you wear a burka on a hot July day. My problem is the conceit that this ought to be "for everyone", which quite a few of your co-religionists say. And Islam as a religion - that it's "for everyone." Now when all is said and done, I'm happy to let you believe this too - but sadly, I have noticed that people tend to EVENTUALLY act on their beliefs...in this case, very exclusivist, unjust and illogical beliefs which would do harm (with Allah's blessings) to their neighbours.

I'm not the one saying others can't practice their religion, You r. and just this argument between me and u describes our religion. this itself should answer u. I believe in ONE GOD. I am Taino Puerto Rican and I Now see the true beauty of hijab and all the culture behind means,well sorta. I grew up hearing of rapes in our community as a youngster. that was terribly sad. Now a days men are pigs. I believe that women are not to be hurt but, to be looked upon as equals, companions and mother/sisters. We have all been given life by our creator and here we have on Earth we live with those who bring shame upon us.
