There is no comparsion, Potter is an overhyped media sensation washout, The Dark Tower is literary genius, I hope they never make it into a movie and destroy the series like they did to Potter.

Right its a systematic kiddie book series. Its ok for kids, but the MEDIA went and blew the whole thing outta proportion. Dark Tower on the other hand is in a word...GODLY. Stephen King is a Literay Demigod!

Agreed. Mordred from what I remember was supposed to be a badass but he died awfully easy... But the series as a whole will always be my favorite. Wizard and Glass would have to be the best book in the series. I swear I almost fell in love with Susan Delgado. That's just how powerful the writing was.

I'm 15 years old, and for me, The Dark Tower series was simply better. Don't get me wrong, I love Harry Potter too, but The Dark Tower just had something more. The storyline was just so complex and imaginitive and dark and beautiful, and having it tie together all the worlds from all of King's other books just made it HUGE. Reading it, you feel absolutely sized down, like an atom; therefore, King's series was definitely better.

Dark Tower wins by a mile. Though hardly the entire reason, part of that is because Stephen King has alot more balls when it comes to writing, and he's alot more merciless when it comes to the characters in the sense of building them up with backstory and later ripping them down (as he shows throughout the series in many examples). Rowling can't do that, and it's extremely limiting.

There is no comparison. The Dark Tower series left me speechless with awe. It's circular plot line allows you to re-read the books again and again and because it is powerfully written and has a very expansive and compelling plot, so you get something out of the book that you keep with you after reading it, it is truly some of King's most ellogant work. All I got from Harry Potter however, was the compulsion to ring the twats kneck. He's an arrogant misfit and yes, the books were overhyped.

i've read all of the harry potter books and right now i'm on the fourth dark tower book and i can already say how much more i loved the dark tower. like most people have already said it's more mature and the characters seem more human along with a story that drags you in and makes you not want to stop reading...Dark Tower!!!

I am from Germany and I' ve read both The Dark and Harry Potter. In my Opinion the Dakr Tower is much better than Harry Potter, cause the Story is not about saving the World, or the live of one Guy, but the Existence itself.
And Gunslinger Roland is simply the best Charakter in a book, i've ever read about.
It's alos great, that in very many books of Stephen King you can read more about the Dark Tower, so the story never ends.
