Ha! Wow a 42lb tuna took that long? Are you a kid? Dude, im 14 and caught a 104lb yellowfin and got to the boat in an hour! And We catch sailfish that big everytime and bigger in Costa Rica. And spearfishing is a fun, great way to catch fish. I like gamefishing too, but think about how you gaff it, fight it till exhaustion, and throw it in the fishbox to die. One shot through the head will kill instantly.

iv'e been spearfishing for 30yrs and it breaks my heart to see wankers killing for the enjoyment of killing, shooting large fish does not make one a good spearfisherman. it is the ones you let go by that make it just the knowledge that you could pull the trigger and end such a beautifull craetures life should be enough. but obviously those who kill large and not very good eating fish are laking in another department.

I go spearfishing every weekend. I only shoot what I'll keep. Theres no point shooting a fish then letting it go when it will die within a short amount of time. From blood loss, infection or any other reason. Also, always aim your shots for the tail. the further up the body you go the more chance of the fish dieing if you do happen to let it go. If you find a school of fish don't go on a killing spree. All in all good video, well done.

if you aim for the tail and score a hit, the fish can tear itself from the harpoon, and will surely die. If it doesnt tear itself free, and if it's a big fish, then it's not clear if the fish will ever be weakened enough for capture, which may result in loss of equipment&fish and may even pose danger to the diver if you're connected with your gun. So it sounds like a retarded idea to go for the tail, in my opinion.
