I freakin' hate you. I had a glow plug break off on a 617 engine in an '83 300SD, and have had to remive the whole head.

Removing the head should be a last resort option after every other method fails to extract the broken plug.

Removing the head would probably be cheaper than acquiring all those specialty tools. The baby slide hammer is cute.

If you don't have the tools, you can try my method. All you needs is some drill bits, taps and a hardened M6 bolt. Google for "Broken Glow Plugs OM606 OM605".

This head is also aluminum, i dont belive this would happen on a 616 or 617 cast iron head.
