Mothers in North America are increasingly taking to holding "Nurse-Ins" to uphold their right to breastfeed anytime, anywhere, in order to feed and nurture their children. Organized primarily through Internet networks, it is a mother's show of solidarity and community with each other, at this time in our culture when this simple act of nurturing our children, can bring dirty looks, nasty comments or even cause the mother and child to be removed from businesses or airplanes.
While Nurse-Ins are often initiated by one person's negative response to seeing Nursing in Public, the Nurse-in becomes an opportunity for correction of breastfeeding misconceptions, education about the child's right to breastfeed and its importance to the health and wellbeing of mother and child,

I think for any mother to breastfeed in a bathroom is no different than if she is using her own home. Nobody wants to look at a nother human being drooling his/her wet mouth on someone elses sex parts. Thats down right unsanitary and slows down business, just breastfeed in a respectful manner thats all

I would like to say what a wonderful video this is and more power to these women who are upholding the rights to feed their babies in the way THEY choose to and when the baby needs it!! I also applaud the women who go to nurse ins to support their fellow mothers! Way to go ladies!!! You are AWESOME!!

No you need to growup klinggonlady77, anyone who eats from sex parts (such as breast) rather than eating with a silverware like a civilized decent human being should be hidden away in bathrooms. And to sit here and say that eating in a bathroom is no different than eating in your own home shows that your a f**king misguided liberal idiot. Listen klingonlady You see the breastfeeding rights advocates like your liberals dont believe on breastfeeding in a respectful manner. There beliefs are that humans are no different than animals and there for we as humans should not be ashamed of it. They see it as natural and its just like any type of eating function as compared to adults eating in public. Its not like we are gonna take control and rush into their own homes, into their own bedrooms and says "NO!!!YOU DONT HAVE A RIGHT TO BREASTFEED PERIOD!!!". Oh gosh get out of here with the 120 excuses, if its not a filthy bathroom with germs your worried about, its hemmoroids. Wow talk about not putting any effort into looking for a real excuse to find someplace thats private. And And drawing parallels between a baby eating with that of an adult is completely misguided and is again symptomic of this ridiculous child-centric culture in the United States.

Nobody is saying don't feed the baby, they are saying either cover up or go someplace private. I'm sorry the world it not as progressive as you, but it offends some people, it is a very private ordeal and yes, is quite comparable to other bodily functions that are unseemly in public. How hard is it to cover up? One little rag or blanket, that's all people ask and in NO way hinders feeding.

So spitzbully are you telling me that a one day old is suppose to eat off of silverware? I know they can't and I am just making a statement here, they could use a bottle right. However I am wondering what makes a breast a sex part when milk comes out of it!! If milk was not intended to come out of it when a child is born it wouldn't. I will tell you I am not a liberal but I do believe that a child has a right to eat........

In my nearly 8 years of breastfeeding my 3 children I have never just whipped up my shirt to my neck and latched them on in a public place. I also have never taken them into a public bathroom to nurse them. NOR have I spent their infancy never leaving my house because I had a nursling and *gasp* they might be human and need to eat. I have never covered myself with anything but my shirt and I have never ever been asked to leave a restaurant or business because I was breastfeeding.

I consider myself discreet about it. I would like to ask you some questions though. Why are you so offended by breastfeeding? Is it the feeding itself or the womans attitude about it? How did you eat as a baby? Were you breastfed by your mother and now think she is a disgusting liberal animal because she chose to breastfeed you? Breastfeeding is more hygienic than bottle feeding-FACT.Nature intended breasts for feeding they are not "sex parts" public bathrooms are unhygienic everyone knows that.Who says I want anymore? this is all about babies, what could be more Unselfish than feeding your child?! I'm not offended by breastfeeding unless i dont have to see it and if its out of the public eye, then fine thats between you and your child. But to go out of your way to be in the spotlight without any effort of being out of the way of others does show lack of maturity and less respect for herself. I was breastfed as a baby klingon, but my mother showed class when doing so, even if it meant using the toilet

Pt2(wouldn't work)why the hell does it bother you so much?i never showed any boob when i fed.funny how it only upsets you when you arn't getting any!it's the closest thing to a magical food we will ever get.I wote about over 100 benefits,leave us alone,respect our babies rights,it's not"just food"if it was we would just use formula!instead of bullying you should find something better to do eg go to a councellor to work out your agression against breasts problems, you have far to much spare time

You say you are concerned about unsanitariness, AND you think bottles are fine but public breastfeeding isn't. This is inconsistent. When a baby is breastfeeding, there's no way milk could wind up anywhere except in the baby and perhaps a little bit on mom's shirt. With a bottle, there's the possibility of a spill, or of milk leaking elsewhere than simply onto mom or baby. Of course it's a non-issue, since it isn't unsanitary. But if you think it is, you shouldn't prefer bottles to breasts.
