No, it's no WiFi. The iMac was using the WiFi tethered to a phone using HSDPA. The point was to use the IPHONE with 3G which is doesn't, so they used 3G via the iMac for the iPhone, thus the WiFi symbol.

You either do not know how to read a description, or are too much of an idiot to understand it. The connection from the computer to the iPhone was 3G. The Internet connection was through an HSDPA modem connected to said computer. So what does that mean? His Internet connection was HDSPA speeds. I don't know how much more simple to put it so you understand.

Correction: EDGE is 2.75G. GPRS is 2.5G. HSDPA is 3.5G, not 3G. FYI: HSDPU is 3.75G. To my knowledge, HSDPA is far much more faster than 3G, and HSDPU is far much more faster than HSDPA. The difference amongst these is far much more larger than the difference between EDGE and GPRS.

It's quitely well explained that the connection shared on the wifi network was provided by a HDSPA modem (so, that's 3G at all, or almost 3.5G). cheers

seriously, i don't get why everyone is so excited for a freaking iphone. The nokia N96 that is coming out in Aug has soo many more features than the new and old iphone combined. It's just the apple's way of marketing it.
the iphone is shit in terms of functions and capabilities. N96 has whast mobile TV. 5mp camera on back and evga cam on the front of it. Bluetooth, WLAN, ...and wait for it........ internet speed of 3.5G which is 10x faster than 3G. Dual slider, 16GB of internal storage.

HSDPA is NOT 3G. UMTS is 3G. HSDPA and HSUPA have not been labeled yet but will likely take the role of 3.5 and 4G. HSUPA for all those mobile internet addicts will be approx 14.4 Mbps!!! awesome huh?! unfortunatly we will not see this for many years to come. now before you chop my head off for this correction do your research. the phone is enabled with hsdpa but you wont find a tower on this planet that has it installed.
