In the book's end , after the dinner Hannibal didn't cut his hand or her hand and they were just talking about Mischa and her father . 3 years later , at a opera, in Buenos Aires , Barney has seen them there...He has seen a beautiful lady next to a handsome man , holding his hand with love and then the lady sayd something and they both laghted ...in that momment Barney said "Clarice..."

Though you have to admit, the ending in the book was kind of cheesy. I like the movie ending when he kisses her (showing but not telling that he cares for her with her crying hinting that she might care for him too), gets away, and leaves it at that. It keeps them more in character, you know?
