People seem to forget that Mamas and Papas had already fallen apart by the time they performed at Monterey, it was also listed as their 'last performace'. Cass was heavily in to heroine, John was also a druggy, Denny a drunk and Michelle's evil was MEN. (I'd quite fancy being a man-addict if I didn't resemble Cass as much as I do but sadly without her voice lol) They are qouted as saying they sucked at Monterey - but in my opinion the performance was GREAT. A sad ending to such a great band.

They gave their hearts and souls to us for us. Do you know what if feels like to leave the adulation of a stage and go back to a solitary room? This was a great performance! I am saddened more by their loss than the papparatzi pecking of mediocre minds. Just get a job in a laundry and sniff, but please don't tell.

Some of the best musicians who have turned to drink or drugs have done so out of 'loneliness' (the state of being alone in solitary isolation) You can be surrounded by people and still feel alone and being at a level where you feel no-one is really your friend it's easy to understand why so many fell in to the trap. Cass once said she was never short of a boyfriend because all she had to do was buy them a boat or a car. What a sad world we live in where 'celebs' become demigods to use and abuse.

i don't ever think the mamas and the papas music will end being im 18 and Well I love the 60's they are great the beatles, hendrix, mama's and the papas, i could go on but you all know how much their music has had an impact on the world not many im sorry no band of today could say that. And the great thing about the 60's is well it's not just one band it's a bunch gotta love the summer of love

Mama Cass was so great, she kinda acted like she might be tripping, even so she was just a fabulous singer. Blew me away, far out, right on and solid. (Old hippie terms for you youngsters) LOL. Sing on Cass!!!

Loved the M&P's - here we have Mama so over weight and we have another wonderful singer, Karen Carpenter on the other side of the scale - both ladies were AWESOME and died from their weight issues :-(
