I believe this was filmed in 1952. It could not be earlier than 1949 as a Dennis F7 or F12 is briefly visible and the first came along in 1949

When did Britain start to use the hi-lo siren? I remember once upon a time the cops in London have automatic bells on their cars but no siren. And most cops don't patrol in car but standing on guard everywhere in London in the streets. And they mostly use a whistle, is that right? And there's an old movie, it's about a short man who want to become a cop in London. And once the police department need him to disguise as a suspect. At last completed the mission successfully. Anyone knows its name?
