Yeah, I know that, hence why I already said that the cow is bad and we should switch to the bison. Also, I really feel bad for all those areas in the world that the only why they were ever able to lastingly bring communities out of desperation was to help them become subsistence farmers who use things like oxen, cow, and chickens. Don't worry, they don't mind you calling them horrible people for trying to survive.

Again, bison require less than cows and are more environmental friendly. Also, like I have said, I am still in training. I have been and am taking steps to aid those in areas of conflict, but cannot get directly involved until later on. I use omnivore to describe myself because, yes, I eat meat, but I also eat plant life too, so therefore, I am not just a meat eater. To call me a meat eater is for me to call you a lettuce head, and I know that is false.

some of the poorest countries dont even have animals like oxen, cows, and chickens and some dont even want them. in ethiopa, most people eat a 90% vegan diet, and during lent eat entirely vegan. my sisters are adopted from ethiopia, so i have met these people and most of them greatly respect my choice to be vegan and my respect for animals. being vegan helps starving people!

Being vegan doesn't mean that it automatically help people. I can say from your examples that it can be beneficial, but that is not always the case. As I have said, it is really a personal choice and no one can dictate to another what they should/shouldn't eat. All I ask is that vegans/vegetarians respect my decisions enough to allow me to live my life and for me to let them live theirs.

Such a powerful video. I'm so glad I'm a vegetarian. Trying to go vegan but it'll take time. Everybody should watch this video and find out the TRUTH. I tried to force my brother to watch this but he was too scared. I told him he was scared of the truth, and he lowered his head.

Human has eaten meat since the pre-historic times, when the human was in her most natural state, she chose to eat meat. So I don't dislike meat/milk/egg-eaters, everybody don't have the choice to be vegan, yet it's easy for a westerner in a rich industrial country to tell everyone who isn't vegan to 'fuck off'. Though I'm against the meat industry and the industry that includes animals at all. It spreads decease, causes pain for billions of animals and pollutes the earth. Eco-farming is the key!

Just a PSA for all (not aimed at you Homeastray): ALF is a counterproductive terrorist organization. Please support some other group as they are horrible for your cause. That's a big assumption to make, just because I want to help animals doesn't mean I break the law!! I am a supporter of Amnesty International and I sponsor two 3rd world children and get involved in many human rights issues on dems etc - probably far more than you! Caring about the violation of animal rights doesn't exclude you from caring about human rights.

Not in my eyes. I try to eat foods that are slaughtered in a humane way. Yes, there are plenty of humane ways to slaughter and prepare animals for eating. What is wrong is the senseless abuse of animals, you will get no argument from me there. But all in all, human rights come first.

I will put it another way, do you not think that the words "slaughter" and "humane" are incompatible? Do you think that humans could ever be slaughtered humanely, or any other creature for that matter? How is 'humanely' slaughtering an animal unnecessarily compatible with respecting its rights?

The word slaughter is a technical term in the manner that I was using it. Humans really could be slaughtered humanely, but that would necessitate them being used for food. Personally, I only see eating human flesh or meat as part of a last chance survival strategy. Humane slaughtering is compatible with animal rights as it is not overtly painful and cruel.

Can you please give me an example of the ALF taking responsibility for a kidnapping or assault? One of the ALF's rules is to take all precautions to avoid hurting any person or animal. There's nothing hypocritic about supporting them.
