I think the band tried too hard to make the song sound more dark and angsty. But the song and the Transformers concept doesn't lend itself to that very easily. Maybe an original tune rather a remake will sound better.

But I can't see why they didn't use this song in the film.. I think when they make a new movie, there should be a new (more modern) song too... New movie = new song .. Although I like the old one too (movie AND the song) ;)
