Tim Ryan, the executive director of the New Orleans Video Access (NOVAC) invited four local film industry and media professionals to discuss career opportunities in filmmaking and digital media.
An unprecedented amount of films are now produced in the state of Louisiana due to attractive tax incentives, a desirable climate and a variety of location options. By the end of October 2006, Louisiana booked over $600,000,000 in production revenue and announced several production and post-produ
ction studio initiatives (including The Film Factory just outside the French Quarter in New Orleans). The entire panel discussion lasted close to two hours and was presented October 21st 2006 during the 16th Annual Louisiana Shorts Festival in New Orleans. This is the third of five segments
addressing careers in filmmaking and digital media.
