C'mon man...another amateurish, misinformed remark! When did you get into Jimi Hendrix--last week?? If you knew ANYTHING about Hendrix, you'd know that THE BLUES was the foundation of all his music...a "freakish blues," as he called it.

Yeah, and with the tone control on his Strat's middle(?) pickup turned down (to roll-off the highs), giving him that dry, muffled sound, along with pinging-type, guitar picking (for lack of the right term). His guitar sounds similar to the sound he had at the Isle of Wight festival even though he played a Flying V (in the clips I viewed).

I beg to differ, it doesn't sound like you've ever heard many jazz guitarists. Even if you absolutely hate the genre, you gotta respect for the greats like Joe Pass, Lenny Breau, etc. Hendrix's amazingness came from his INCREDIBLE understanding of his instrument and its capabilities, which in my opinion is the epitome of any type of music on any instrument. The only people on level with Hendrix are Breau and Allman, for the same reason as above. And duh, Angus Young sucks shlong dude. Obviously.
