Alot of left handed guitarists just play their guitars upside down instead of getting a left handed one. Paul McCartney did, as well as Jimi Hendrix. They still do it today when they find one they like, and don't want to look for the left handed model. I wouldn't spend too much time thinking about it though. I'd much rather just enjoy the F&S!

Oh definitely--they did a great job. I am crazy about the Mamas and Papas --I saw them in the late 80's at a local high school (obviously not all originals (only John)but I did get to speak with him briefly and I have, or never will forget it!
