You ever notice that the Statue of Liberty is in Metropolis in the Old Superman Movies, and the Statue of Liberty is in Gotham City in the Tim Burton Batman movies. It's because DC said that Metropolis is supposed to represent NYC during the day and Gotham represents NYC at night.

Chicago was the backdrop for the Nolan movies. Both Gotham and Metropolis were inspired by NYC. That's actually where both characters orignally were. The mythical cities were created later.

I have to Agree that Reeves Performance was the best and he will always be Superman to his fans (I am one of them). But for better or worst we have to deal with the fact that others will play the role of Superman. Routh, I felt, did a decent job in Superman Returns; considering he had big shoes to fill. As for Tom Welling I cant really comment since I have not watched much Smallvile.

I hope one day scientists can genetically engineer our own superman lol! reeves was the best superman but routh did an awesome job! and the special effects they can put in now are phenomenal when he fly's rite through the planes wing and doesn't even flinch gets me going every time! not sure what all that crappy smallville stuff is all about tho!
