I saw the last short film here "Day I Harvested a Star" at the Ghibli Museum last month. On the visuals alone it is a total masterpiece. None of these shorts is intended for release outside the museum, but common sense suggests that one day there will be too many exclusive shorts to have a place on the rotation at the "Saturn Cinema", so I hope when retired, these films will be released after all.

I saw this movie as well ("Day I Harvested a Star")-- as I looked across the theater filled with parents and children there was not one whose mouth was not wide open in amazement. It is a thing of beauty, and my three-year-old can still tell you, many months later, the plot and how beautiful it was. If you do go to Tokyo, you must get Ghibli Museum admission tickets here in the U.S. Tickets are not available when you get there for foreign visitors.

We saw the last clip in the Ghibli museum in Mitaka, it was wonderful. Too bad there were no subtitles, I wasn't sure what the deal was with the parents? adopted mother? and CPS (hahah, sorry!) trying to take him away. I wish those were available on DVD.

These are works that are made "Recent" and are screened only in the Ghibli museum. And, the first movie and the second movie are still screened.

I just love studio ghibli. There are lots of the movies that just don't get to the US. I was looking up Miyazaki on IMBD and got all excited because he's making a new movie but then I realized it was coming out in Japan not the US. T_T
