No offence but I really dont get how you get that, Chicagos cell block tango stated how 6 merry murderesious each killed their husband, Shooting them, poison, stabbing, Choping off their head with an axe (thats wha the hungarian girl says "uh uh") Killing a man and your sister, and Killing a artist And this is about low class prostitues fighting for the attention of a Rich swinger who's going to sleep with them. I dont see how their alike Lol

In 1969, this film was my first exposure to Fosse's genius. The two things that stuck in my little brain at the time were the blonde with the cigarette in her mouth and the hair-dos. The unbelievable, timeless choreography was appreciated, but much more so later. I still laugh at the blonde with the cigarette and the hair-dos. Those are timeless as well.

I wouldn't call it "corny," unless you think all classic Broadway and Hollywood musicals are corny. After all, the story is based on the Fellini film "Nights of Cabiria," only slightly cleaned up for Broadway audiences in the 1960s.

Well, technically, she's a dance hostess -- but the movie makes it pretty obvious that she occasionally sleeps with customers for a little extra cash. The original Fellini film "Nights of Cabiria," which "Sweet Charity" was based on, made no bones about the heroine's profession -- she was definitely a hooker!

Thirteen-year-olds are doing "Sweet Charity"? Boy, things sure have changed since I was in school. Woody Allen used to do a joke about playing Stanley Kowalski in "A Streetcar Named Desire" -- when he was in kindergarten! One of these days, it won't be a joke!

If you really want to see Fosse and Verdon at their peak, the only movie to see is Damn Yankees. The Pajama Game is also good, but the two mentioned before dance together in "Who's Got the Pain"? in the former. I might be biased, but for my money Gwen Verdon and Rita Hayworth are the two best female dancers ever.
