He wrote it. Not 100% sure he sang it but pretty positive. And that is definitely him playing the guitar

It is Gibbons on the mainvocal. Listen the phrase endings closely, and you will hear the same vocal sound he has on ZZ Top records.

I was a teen when Moving Sidewalks and 13th Floor Elevators would play clubs in Houston, back then they actually had clubs where teens could go, imagine that!! Other local bands were The Rogues, the Coastliners, and B.J. Thomas was popular then. Rogues were like a Beatles cover band and Coastliners were a Beach Boys flavored band. The Elevators and Moving Sidewalks were a little more edgey.

Speaking as someone who recently turned twenty one there still are a few clubs, bars (that are not officially bars), etc. in Houston that teenagers can go into.

I was 11 when I first saw them at the Rink-e-Dink joint on Airline drive in Houston around 1966. I also had the pleasure of being one of the rock group acts in a talent show at Waltrip high school in which the Moving Sidewalks was the main attraction. Thanks for posting this and stirring fond memories! I wonder if there are any videos of them around.
