you may be right on that but I think if music in China can outgrow its cultural limitation, meaning using it for any specific purpose, and actually let it have its freedom to develop, we may just see classical music revive in a different way. These two pieces you have mentioned are meant to be approached gradually. A minor can be thought of approaching works by Scarlatti, or even Bach, La Ronde des Lutins demands more virtuosity so I doubt if someone who can barely play twinkle twinkly little star will skip and attempt Paganini's caprice instead.

as far as I read from your post about the forum, it seems to me those are actually political statements. And It's rather complicated about national pride. We don't see ourselves as Chinese as in communist China chinese, we see ourselves as Chinese, a race from ancient time. What we have is no national pride, it's culture pride. I really doubt the history of this particular piece has much to do with communist party. But if you insist on it, I won't keep arguing.

You say the pride is derived from the fact that China is an ancient nation, how much culture has been lost through war time and the revolution? You should know that the development art/music/philosophy goes hand in hand with the thoughts reflected from that specific period.
