Nah. As an American, I welcome any good plane such as the A380. Airbus is good in some aircraft (A320, A330, and A380); Boeing is good in some aircraft (B717, B757, B747). Both have bad aircraft (B727, B737, A300, A310, A340). We Americans could use some good competition.

The A380 exists, not because of another a/c type, but because of air traffic demand. Boeing didn't want to pony up and give the air traveling public the 747-400X, -500X, and -600X instead relying on the original 747-400 and introducing a no-larger 747-8. It has come back to bite Boeing in the arse. While we Americans began and founded powered flight on 17/Dec/1903, there is no guarantee that we will remain the leading innovator unless we get our heads out of the sand and do something.

Dude... To say this thing is huge is an understatement. IT'S MASSIVE. Length: 73m The frackin' wingspan is longer than the plane itself! 79.8m. This plane is just beyond belief, in terms of dimensions.

I totally agree. And yes its true I am just saying that because I hate the French and anything that has to do with them. Go Boeing all the way. America was the first to fly and the best at making planes. I dont see the A380 breaking any of the Aviation reconds the 747 set.........Those are my 2 cents :)
