I'm gonna assume you're not just trolling and point out that the idea behind 'Big Country' - as I remember it - was a response to those early '80s bands bleating about heroin, violence etc, or alternatively just 'dancing all night'. Disillusioment with both the self-detructive aspects of punk and the hedonism of New Romanticism. A throwback to 'old school' concepts of inspiration, idealism, courage etc, with a post-punk guitar-driven sound. That's it as I see it - I ain't Greil Marcus.
