Man I just wanna ... ( 1 week ago by FuShengAlex)
Man I just wanna jump in that ESPN meeting and scream my lungs off at that "expert panel".
Shaq has 0 game - offensively/defensively outside the paint. He can't shoot facing the basket either. These "experts" are going on the "rings/popularity" bullshit. Shaq won a damned ring in '06 not only not being the 2nd best player on his team......he wasn't even the best center on his team v
s. Dallas! I think Shaq is tougher to stop 1 on 1, but Dream can do WAAAAAY more things on a court.
well let let me ... ( 1 week ago by clownmoe1)
well let let me also say that Zo was a different breed of player than most any other man. his sucsees was as much based on his pride than it was on tallent. not that he wasnt talented but he claimed the paint as his own and god help the folks who dared tresspass. he took it personal. russel was said to be more anallitical, hakeem was from a diferent culture and Zo was fiercly proud. 3 different ways to be a good center on D
although shaq was ... ( 1 week ago by clownmoe1)
although shaq was punishing he lacked wilts shere athletisism. wilt was a 3 sport athlete. shaq is a giant assed paint camper thats not that impressive. i read that wilt had a 48 inch vertical leap, you would be hard pressed to slide a dollar bill under shaq's vertical. but i agree that hakeems defence againt shaq was great. at times it was awe inspiring. hmm i think i spelled that word wrong but am too tired to figure out the correct spelling.
I have to disagree, ... ( 1 week ago by FuShengAlex)
I have to disagree, he surely wasn't Wilt, but Shaq was a incredible athlete for his size, quickness, agility when he 1st entered the league.
Kevin Duckworth/Oliver Miller were near or around the same size height as Shaq and they had the athleticism of an elephant. They're the ones you should be referring to. Shaq I recall took off from the dotted line in a playoff game vs. Portland with 2 feet and nearly decapitated Kelvin Cato filli
ng the lane. He stripped Pip in open court for a dunk.
well maybe my veiw ... ( 1 week ago by clownmoe1)
well maybe my veiw is skewed becuase a young shaq looked like a sleepy tree sloth in comparrison to a much older hakeem.
i'm nearly 47 and ... ( 1 week ago by jeroel)
i'm nearly 47 and as Rocky Balboa says"the older i get,the more i have to leave behind, that's life"well,i say"where a good man is silent, evil grows"the point of this analytical bullshit is i'm sick and tired of "expert" opinions that obviously aren't worth a cup of piss.while i admit that opinions vary,i believe anyone who is honest should judge people with their logic/intelligence,rather than their prejudices/emotions.i am with Fu on this subject of "experts" who rank Dream #5center. IDIOTS!!
Olajuwondidn't play ... ( 1 week ago by jeroel)
Olajuwondidn't play ball until he was 15-16,led his high school team to the national championship,on the last day of teaching from the then best nba player in the world,Moses Malone-20 year old Olajuwon took Moses, who was so strong even Kareem did not like to play against him,Dream took Mo with 1 hand, threw him to the ground and with his other hand, rammed ball in the basket.#1 pick over Mike,NBA DRAFT.LED NBA IN OFFENSIVE BOARDS AS A ROOKIE,LED LAST PLACE TEAM TO 2ND,KILLED NBA CHAMPS 2ND YEAR
only fucking player ... ( 1 week ago by jeroel)
only fucking player from same era to have winning record vs. Mike, more blocks than any player in 35 freakin years the nba has recorded blocks, only big man top 10/steals,# freakin 1 top scoring center in post season points per game,1st center to be finals mvp back to back, only player top 25 for both blocks/steals-and he's top 7!!! outscored nba scoring champ Shaq-5/game,caused the 3 year veteran Diesel to commit 20 turnovers in the 4 game sweep-'95 nba finals, greatest post season/nba history-1995
i'm just so fuckin ... ( 1 week ago by jeroel)
i'm just so fuckin sick of stupid ass opinions from people who obviously don't like the Dream...i fully understand that people think differently, but give me a freakin break!-it's like with Barry Bonds, the old-"well,we really don't KNOW IF HE TOOK STEROIDS!! are you fucking kidding me? listen,i am a drug free powerlifter-i have been around idiots on Steroids and i played baseball as well.common freakin sense-no player in their mid 30's gets a 200 point increase in their slugging pctge w/out drugs
i'm not saying i ... ( 1 week ago by jeroel)
i'm not saying i expect people to completely agree with me,but some damn common sense would freakin help.i've admitted on different posts that Wilt and Alcinder(for any young guys/gals who don't know-Lew Alcinder is Kareem's birth name)-both these centers are so great you can debate them for #1 center with Olajuwon.Russ is #1 team leader of all time but not enough offense to argue as #1 center IMO .BUT SHAQ!? NO FUCKING WAY! never best rebounder/blocker-beat up by Dream when he was 3 year vet.
I heard Shaq is ... ( 1 week ago by FuShengAlex)
I heard Shaq is retiring in 2 years. I guess he's ran outta teams to jump on to whenever shit hits the fan. U know I hate Bill Walton's commentary, but he was dead-on with Shaq last year.
This guy tanks the last 2 damned seasons of his Heat era, gets traded and then suddenly talks of being the link to a Phoenix title run, lol? Ran his ass to L.A. after getting swept, bickers with Kobe despite winnin 3 rings in a row, injured/outta shape every damned near 3rd game with the Heat....
....and Dream on ... ( 1 week ago by FuShengAlex)
....and Dream on the other hand is battling a damned heart condition in '92 and feuding with management because they can't get him a damned team to play with. This guy had a backcourt of Sleepy Floyd and Joe Barry Carroll at one point....how the fuck does that compare to Penny/Kobe/Wade/Nash? HE HAD A REAL REASON TO LEAVE H-TOWN, not abandon ship like Shaq!
From '86 until 92/93 I almost never saw him play except in ASG during the reg season, because his games weren't televised here.
You know I do not ... ( 1 week ago by FuShengAlex)
You know I do not believe in this GOAT stuff that claims 1 player is waaaay better than anyone else that ever played, (especially from MJ fans), but Magic was asked if he had to start a franchise with 1 player in NBA history it would be Dream, because he was equally good on offence and defence.

FU how do you think Tim Duncan will fair against Hakeem?
TD vs. Hakeem? ... ( 1 week ago by FuShengAlex)
TD vs. Hakeem? C'mon this guy isn't on Dreams level.
Hakeem is his prime was quicker, a better rebounder, a WAAAAY better defender (not taking anything away from Tim) that could guard almost the entire court at nearly 7ft. tall with steals, a better shotblocker, the best ever. A better scorer in the playoffs. TD is great, but Hakeem is better th
an him at almost every facet of the game. That's not taking anything away from TD, but more out of positive for the Dream.
Magic's #1 choice ... ( 1 week ago by jeroel)
Magic's #1 choice in all of history, add that to Bill Russell's #1 choice for center, and Jordan's #1 choice for center, most of us here on this board,#1 blocker, more points per game than any center in playoff history at an impressive 53%,while often being triple teamed,1 of if not the greatest defensive players in history,1 of the greatest rebounders inhistory, plus beating the hell out of every center he faced during 1 of the greatest eras for centers in history.and "experts"rank him #5 center.

man i get all excited just thinkin bout those old hakeem days. he shurely was a combination of power, grace, technique, endurance and precision.call me nuts but i think that he was even better than chamberlain. hell the only way i can recognize mj being better is when i think in games like "the flu game" when mike beat utah in the finals having bugs messing up with his game. Those two (mj and the dream) the real overachievers of all time. they got that way of exceding expectations. peace yall

Array ( 3 days ago by ShaolinSurfer777)
Man... Dude...
I WISH I had a young Olajuwon on my high school team during my junior year. I was a great three point shooter but our go to guy was a point guard and he was a terrible passer and could never get me the ball on my sweet spots. Damn for any three point specialist, Hakeem is the guy you want to
play with. Because the man is a great passer and demands a double team for the most part of the game.
