In germany the Cri Cri is registered as an light twin-engined aircraft like a Piper Seneca e.g. So I think you do need a license for fly this thing.

The engines are 12 or 15 hp Jpx's in some places you do not need a twin endorsement to fly it, Canada being one of them.

You need a twin endorsement in AUstralia. But it shouldn t be needed in everyones opinion excluding casa.. Also in Australia its a registered aircraft and not ultralight. You cant have a twin engined ultralight here so NZ might be the same.

I can't remember where I saw this but I have seen a picture of this A/C with two small turbines mounted in place of the IC engines. It is totally possible to build something like this with turbines these days thanks to the R/C turbine industry. Two turbines producing about 60 #'s of thrust would work great on something this sized.
