I think she's right ...( 11 months ago by leitfie3579)
I think she's right - it's what Heifetz believed too. A performer has to maintain control and cannot allow subjectivity to 'control' him or her at the time of performance. If this sounds cold or uninvolved, it shouldn't ; after all, the performer has lived with the music, considered every aspect of it (and learned it off by heart!) prior to performance. Then the performer focuses on getting it 'right' - so that the listener can lose her/himself in the music. That's how it should be.

She is the greatest. Hard to imagine what goes on in her mind when she is playing. Almost more than human.

This song-Lark Ascending-Makes my heart sing!!!
Hilary is such an amazing, lovely, talented girl! Her petite features and slightly widely spaced eyes, make me think she is a wood Nymph or fairy who happened to pick up a lost violin in the forest, and played it for all the small creatures to dance around her. : )

Elegance

Spring,
the soft rain,
beating the rhythm upon the hope's ripples,
haunting the dreams of the sleepling nights.
Sommer,
the hill stream,
singing the ballad among the heart's pebbles,
sparkling the sunlight through the silent trees.

Autumn,
the yellow leaves,
whispering the solo in the memory's mist,
fluttering the angel's wings and falling down without a sighn.
Winter,
the flying snow,
dancing the ballet in the freezing wind,
playing the eternal lyric and disappearing in nowhere......

I agree. If you are really good, then the technical stuff will stick to your side even when you get lost. Get lost together!

It's neat to hear her talk about "control" in performance.
It's funny that when asked to talk about her playing, the conductor and the producer both say "She's got great umm... intonation!"
Could no one even get the door for her at the end, while she's carrying her violin, water bottle, and music? I bet J Lo. hasn't touched a door handle in YEARS.
A song of the earth ...( 6 months ago by NewbeeXP)
A song of the earth to the sky
Seeing the bird weeping,
I drop a tear on the earth,
Touch her reflection on the sea.
Seeing the bird smiling,
I wave my hand to the sky,
Sing a song for the sunshine.
Seeing the bird fluttering her wings,
Seeing the dream flying away......
How can I touch the ...( 6 months ago by NewbeeXP)
How can I touch the sky?
When can I have such wings?...
God created a me to build in the earth's crowd.
And created a bird to sing in the sky's solitude,
Keeping my feet firmly on the earth,
I can build higher and higher.
Building a rainbow between the clouds,
I'll reach the bird on the sky high.
