Other than the fact that there is no high frequency sound in the vacuum of space, a futuristic ship like Enterprise would in real life create an artificial black hole, or instead generate a worm hole to reach velocities exceeding Light. Such technology realistically may be created by 3000 - 3200 AD (If humans survive that long), however some say aliens may contact humans or 'reveal themselves' as early as 2012 (changing of the astronomical alignment). UFO technology is amazing though......

its not wind...ok there a huge space ship with hundreds or thousands of people with tons of machines doing all the work ...all this happens silently? lol

I don't understand your reply, I was saying that the sound the spaceship makes is from the engines... not from wind.
If you think the sound is from wind, then your just weird lol.
Space does not have ...( 2 weeks ago by raulitech)
Space does not have any gas, so the sound from any engine in space would be silent since there is no gas for the sound to travel across. but hey, if the intro or battles in startrek had no sound how many less sci-fi fans would watch it?

as far as scientific today concern, there is no such thing as absolute vacum space, hence there is a finite particles per volume units, and since you mentions that sound waves realized on the vibration of particles to pass on it energy, then in theory sound should be able to get around in space. however, because of the density in space, such sound energy can only be detected at plank scale. so and since we compute at macro level, we ussually aproximate such a small energy as zero

I do agree somewhat that it would need to somehow bend the fabric of space time, and in theroy would generate a worm hole, however they theorize that creating a wormhole would in effect cause something passing through to travel BACKWARDS in time, the further the distance the further the time travel back.

i remember growing up thinking the graphics/effects in the intro (the planets and stuff) looked so realistic. now i'm looking at it like what the hell!?

First season intro, 1987, for that period of time, these effects were astonishing. As you see in the present, TNG does not need remastering. It's effects are still very good.

Thanks for posting ...( 1 day ago by GkarsEye)
Thanks for posting this. I've been browsing some of my favorite sci-fi intros on youtube, and was having a hard time finding the TNG one until I came across this video.
The TNG intro is so majestic.. it romanticizes space in a way that continues to captivate me to this day. I like the TOS intro too I suppose, but the TNG one does it for me more then the TOS ever will. Both are great shows though.
