even the same story is happening again, now with emo bands, I hate emo bands, they look so gay, and emo has the same popularity that glam had in the 80's. I hate emo and poser metalcore. I like this thrash.

Thrash DID NOT ... ( 1 month ago by Shithole999)
Thrash DID NOT start with Metallica. I think the origin of it can be pinpointed to Motorhead (pretty much the first band to fuse metal with the speed of punk, like James Hetfield says in part one), Mercyful Fate, and Venom. Fate and Venom are considered the first black metal bands too. Black metal is pretty much just thrash with lyrics about Satan and the occult

And personally, I think Bonded By Blood (or Peace Sells But Whos Buying) is the greatest thrash album. Fuck Kill em All, Show No Mercy, and Among the living

I agree that Metallica only popularized thrash metal and if you want to say that Venom was thrash metal and not black metal that's fine with me. But how can you mention Mercyful Fate and then say that Black Metal is "pretty much just thrash with lyrics about Satan and the occult"? The thing is that musicians listened to various types of metal and this reflected in albums having various influences, but it's silly to pass off everything as being thrash metal just because it has some influences.

In this documentary, few seconds are dedicated to Slayer, a band who inspired thousands of thrash and death metal bands, only Anthrax and the OVERRATED Metallica are speaking! There are few Megadeth traces too, another thrash metal icon! Who did this shit doesn't understand a fuck about thrash metal!
dude i love slayer, ... ( 1 month ago by outremer79)
dude i love slayer, but i will agree that they have awful solos.. but they are the masters and reign in blood was a landmark album( in the sense that the riffs were killer and the avg. song tempo was 250bpm). fuck being minority dude, speak your mind, you have your opinion on slayer, i have mine.. peace \\m//
Personally I think ... ( 1 month ago by Shithole999)
Personally I think it was all an evolution. First there was metal. Then punk arrived, and tons of metal fans decided to fuse their love of punk with their love of metal (if you listen to most NWOBHM bands, most of em have somewhat of a punk sound). Some bands (like Motorhead, Fate, and Venom) decided to take it a step farther and "created" some of the first thrash metal, speed metal, whatever you want to call it. I think Welcome to Hell has to be the 1st thrash album. Kill em all would be #2
I understand your ... ( 1 month ago by JosephKuby)
I understand your plight. I would love to be in a band that wiped out emo and metalcore in the same way grunge crippled glam.

Who did he kill? Actually, I'd say Ratt's first record (the self-titled record) was heavier than Crue's Too Fast For Love.

certainly. venom was kinda cool but the actual sound in their music didn
´t seem very evil. more like normal anger but real black metal has that evil scaryness to the whole aura around the notes, I´d say that death metal is more like trash with the anger in the music but as they mostly tune down their intruments and don´t always go super fast they kinda get that gritt
y brutality to it so it´s different that way.

Funny you should say that, I want to put the last nail in the coffin of the whole emo/metalcore scene. God I feel like Lars and James.
