The actor is Mark Wahlberg but he didn't actually provide the vocals (being an ex-rapper he lacks the range) - they are provided by ex-Steelheart singer Michael Matijevic - Steelheart did the original version of the song on an album 5 years before the film.

I dont know where you get your infrmation, but the lead singer (who is actually singing this song) is from a band called steelheart, whom by the way originally wrote and performed this song in the early nineties. this song was then re-recorded with zack wylde (ozzy's guitarist, and black label society guitarist) and a few other dudes for the movie. The lead singer's name is Michael Matijevic, who sang for steelheart and the new version of the song.
