Underground music sure (ie not signed on a major label ie on an INDEpendent label), but Babyshambles is very popular band in the UK mainstream and is also signed on a MAJOR label. Therefore, the Babyshambles (or even the Libertines in this case) can be considered anything BUT "indie". Unfortunately, uninformed fashioncore/emo/teenyboppers/dump-people-in-general are calling alternative [to mainstream music] music, "indie".

Why must everyone constantly refer back to this traditional meaning of Indie? Wicked used to mean bad, now it means good, in certain circles bad now means good. Words change meaning and Indie now refers to a brand of British lead guitar-based music that The Libertines started and that includes Babyshambles. That's what we call it in England anyway. It is branded about a little too often, which is annoying but fuck off about independant music. It really gets on my tits.
