Jelly Roll Morton - Black Bottom Stomp
More of the 1926-'27 Hot Style jazz from Jelly Roll Morton. These cuts were made for Victor Records-the company wanted into the "race records" business and Jelly Roll capitalized on that need by forming his Red Hot Peppers in 1926. Those '26-'27 Chicago recordings set the standard for decades. The Black Bottom was the new dance craze of the middle 1920s.
