It was exciting when Barry Palmer started recording with Mike Oldfield. At that time, Barry's voice was already familiar from the Triumvirat albums "Old Loves Die Hard" and "Pompeii", when Barry replaced Helmut K öllen. As I recall, there is a cartoon image of Barry on the "Pompeii" album. The members of the band are drawn to look like mock Roman busts.

I believe the song may be about Mike's own mother, who I understand sadly died when Mike was at a fairly young age. This may be the case if there is a picture of Mike's mother on the record cover.

da hast du echt recht! das waren echt noch zeiten damals, das erste tape deck gekauft und dann sch ön oldfield gehört! weiß ich noch genau :-) heute muß man echt schon nach musikern suchen die mit herzblut dabei sind und nicht nur der kohle wegen... sehr schade

ihr habt beide so recht, auch wenn ich jetzt ganz andere Sachen(Metal) h öre, denke ich gerne an diese Zeit zurück, aber ich muss andauernd dieses DSDS Schmierentheater ertragen, dieser Dreck ist sogar der FAZ/Süddeutsche schon eine Nachricht wert - wenn das nicht bezeichnent ist...

Crime of passion was released as a single on January 3, 1984. It's also on a 4cd-compilation album. Unfortunately, I don't remember the compilations name. I couldn't afford to buy it, because it was so damn expensive.
