Hitler was a good speaker too, you know. He showed incredible prejudice towards people that are not religious and spoke of those as the cause of all evil. Such fundamentalism and lack of understanding is what causes conflicts. He was a good speaker, I'll give you that but that can easily go both ways, good or bad. I don't even need to go into details about the Iran/Contra situation, or the energy efficiency stagnation or universal healthcare.

Unlike yourself, some people are not prejudiced enough to discard state control and regulation. The State is the moral authority of a nation, it's job is to regulate and control. The current Wall Street crysis is a result of lack of regulation, a free market curse if you will.

The funny thing about the Wall Street crysis is that, again, socialism keeps saving capitalism. You socialize the damage by using tax payer money to recapitalize the market.
Freedom? There is no such thing as freedom. Freedom is ALWAYS conditioned. Freedom of speech should exist, but not without responsibility over that speech.
Reagan had a pretty face and he is seen as a great President. However, with careful consideration you'll soon realize that he did more harm than good. Free your mind.

You are so incredibly wrong. Look up the Commodities Futures Modernization Act. It was Phil Gramm who introduced that provision at the last minute during a "lame-duck" Congressional session. THAT's who you should point fingers at -- Phil Gramm, who was co-chair of McCain's campaign and may be his Treasury Secretary if (god forbid) he gets elected. Get your facts straight.

The USSR helped other Socialist states survive. That's it. They never invaded another nation to implant their ideology. It would have to be there already. Afganistan is a good example: a self-titled democratic government was in need of aid against rebels that didn't want women to have rights or children to have proper education and sexual education. Which nation helped the rebels again? That's right. The USA.
