"Twiggy", from South Africa, was voted in by a popular poll into this year's Mavericks Surf Contest and his performance was riveting. He scored two "10s" and walked away with the $30,000 purse and the admiration of the other 23 surfers in the contest. A true champion who has really just gotten started.
Most of Grant's countrymen and fellow surfers flooded the Internet with votes and he did not disappoint.
