Did you know for ... ( 1 month ago by tootiredtobeoriginal)
Did you know for example that Britain offered to take the case to the ICJ 3 times? It was Argentina that refused to consider it. The 3000+ islanders do have rights to the land, rights established over 9 generations. No its not a TV contest or an elections. Britain did and was prepared to negotiate, what isn't prepared to do is accept Argentine demands for a pre-determined outcome. And by excluding the islanders having any say in the outcome, Argentina is denying their fundamental rights.

ACtually, the ... ( 3 weeks ago by 219970)
ACtually, the United Nations was entirely in support of Britain's claim to the island and the decision to re-take them by force was backed up by a UN resolution, which thus had the force of international law.
The 2000 islanders ... ( 2 weeks ago by eurargio1)
The 2000 islanders are part of an illegal british occupation, they cannot decide as UK cannot decide unilaterally. There must be a negotiation between two sovereign parties. But of course you guys prefer war...
The UN GENERAL ... ( 2 weeks ago by eurargio1)
The UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY every year asks the UK to negotiate with Argentina.

They are illegaly occupaying argentine land, that doesnt give rights.

You are a UK Government Official, dont you?
I think you will ... ( 2 weeks ago by 219970)
I think you will find that the Argentine government at the time was a MILITARY JUNTA that provoked a war to gain popular support. There was no way Argentina would win - British forces are better trained and equipped and, in particular, the existence of nuclear submarines meant that the Argentine navy stayed in port after the Belgrano was sunk. War was regrettable, but Argentine aggression had to be stopped.

Only in the eyes of Argentina. In the eyes of International Law, the UK has sovereignty over the islands.
Do you support ... ( 2 weeks ago by 219970)
Do you support Argentina's attack on the islands by an unelected military dictatorship?
Negotiate does not ... ( 2 weeks ago by tootiredtobeoriginal)
Negotiate does not imply giving in to Argentine demands, Argentina approaches every possible talks with a demand that the British surrender. Get stuffed if you think we'll talk on that basis.
Nope, they are not ... ( 2 weeks ago by tootiredtobeoriginal)
Nope, they are not an illegal British occupation. They have a perfect right to be there, the Argentine claim is utter bollocks. And you are a hypocritical tosspot, it was Argentina that resorted to the use of force not Britain.
Ah there you go ... ( 2 weeks ago by tootiredtobeoriginal)
Ah there you go again, denying they have rights and on another video claiming you were being friendly to a Falklander. You are an utter hypocrite.
Nope, purely a ... ( 2 weeks ago by tootiredtobeoriginal)
Nope, purely a personal interest. But seeing as you parrot Argentine Government propaganda, you could well be.

Now in 2008, it is time for the UK government to peacefully negotiate on sovereignty with Argentina.
In the eyes of ... ( 2 weeks ago by eurargio1)
In the eyes of international law this is an unresoved international dispute of two sovereign countries.

I dont support any unelected dictatorship. The UK did and does.
I would like to ... ( 2 weeks ago by 219970)
I would like to have an intelligent discussion with you. However, I find it very difficult to do so when you make claims that are little short of proposterous. The Argentine government at the time was a military dictatorship, who used the war as a means to gain popular support at a time when the Argentine economy was very weak. The British government was elected by the people, in democratic elections. How is this possibly an unelected dictatorship?
Mmmpf, Argentina ... ( 2 weeks ago by tootiredtobeoriginal)
Mmmpf, Argentina makes a big noise about "negotiating" over the Falklands but it doesn't want to negotiate at all. All it does is childishly demand that Britain capitulates and transfers sovereignty, its idea of "negotiation" is how to do that. Well the islands belong to the islanders, they get to decide their own future and the sooner Argentina grows up and accepts they have no right to bully them the better.
Childishly and grow ... ( 1 week ago by eurargio1)
Childishly and grow up, are very unrespectful terms, this is no way to talk for a foreign office member like you.
"The islands belong to the islanders", this is a lie used to support the british state illegal posession of our territory, which is the only issue on debate: sovereignty. The 2000 islanders or less are used as an excuse.
The UK supported ... ( 1 week ago by eurargio1)
The UK supported and does support many unelected dictatorships overseas.
You avoid the words referring to other people intelligence, and I will avoid any word referring to other people arrogance...
The only people who ... ( 1 week ago by tootiredtobeoriginal)
The only people who have to lie about the Falklands is the Argentine Government who peddle a pack of lies in their so-called "sovereignty" claim. The right to self-determination is enshrined in the UN declaration, it isn't one that is qualified.

Name one actively supported by the UK. Oh and btw I don't work for the FCO.
Pinochet wasn't ... ( 1 week ago by tootiredtobeoriginal)
Pinochet wasn't support by the UK Government till the Falklands War. Hamid Karzai was elected in democratic elections, supervised by the UN, certainly neither unelected or a dictatorship.
