Actually, it had been Lucifer's Heritage; they changed it to Blind Guardian to avoid controversy over being Satanist.
In my opinion(you can think whatever you want of that), Blind Guardian is just as suggestive a name as Lucifer's Heritage.

Because people associate negativity with the loud "noise" they hear with metal. In fact, there are actually a large number of Christian hard rock\metal bands, one band I would recommend is Project 86.
But anyways, dissonance and "lack" of "melody" have always been interpreted as "Atheist Satanist scum". Very seldom are those two things seen as\used as a tool to reinforce the message in the lyrics. Every so often, though, you get a band like Project 86 that does the metal\Christian thing right.
