5. Maiden - fautless early, flawed later on.
6. Dio - Out-Ozzyed Ozz.
7. Crue - only good cock-rock/metal.
8. Priest - Poor man's maiden but lotta good songs.

Metallica aren't overrated. I remember getting Master for my birthday on album in my 20's already owning the first two albums. Pre downloading it cost about $23 auusie dollars, about $80-$100 today. In those days you had to put your musical dollar where your mouth was. Metallica cost me plenty and even now those early songs are the most played on my i-pod. Creeping Death, Fade to... and For whom ... Respect 4 eva.

Deep Purple is one of my FAVORITE bands of all time, their early stuff is some of the most underrated ever, Strange Kind of Woman, Fireball, Child in Time. And yet most people only know about Machine Head.... Even their earliest work with Rod Evans I truly enjoy I am a big fan of progressive rock and their 3rd untitlaed album was very progressive.
