MOHAMMED never emphasized that women need to wear burqa or hijab. It was an idea he borrowed from the Syrian Christian elite. As royalty they would have their wives covered whenever guests were among them, as a symbol of high status. Mohammed borrowed this idea for his wives as a symbol of status. Nothing more. Yes, it is true that the Islamic reformation, not religion, basically died with the prophet. But Mohammed was no liar. He tried to bring reformation to the ppl of the dessert, in modern day saudi arabia, and the rest of the arabian region. He fought and opposed the religious elite, and openly spoke against them. I think you're missing the point about what mohhamed was trying do accomplish. He was a Prophet chosen by God to bring forth enlightenment.

and
