I got this from a "Sesame Street Special" that aired during PBS pledge drives.
Watch and enjoy as Ernie gets some help from Hoots the owl and his band (with assists from some famous names from that era) on whether he should hold onto his beloved Rubber Duckie while playing his saxophone. Copyright 1987 Sesame Workshop.

I know what you meant. I just think it's weird. If it actually does say that backwards, why don't you post it?

Woah! That's a lot of celebrities for just this one song. I realize sesame street is awsome, but how did they slate all those guys to do those cameos. That's really cool!

Even though Sesame Street is a children's program, they always include references for the parents to enjoy, as well. This cleverly fulfills the promise of "family programming" that too often really just ends up meaning "Kids shows"

I don't want any negative ratings when I ask this (I'm sure some dumb person will give it just to be an idiot), but now that I watch this, I can't help but to think there's a hidden message in this clip, lol. Not saying it's anything nasty or political, but it just seems like there were "side" references that were only alluded to, lol. In other words...I'm missing something that I'm sure most have already caught, cause I KNOW it's not just a simple "Ernie, put down the duckie" lol..it's more

When they first introduced Hoots on Sesame Street, he instantly became a favorite character of mine. Why?
Because he talked just like Goriddle Gorilla from The Great Space Coaster. Of course years later I learned that Kevin Clash performed both characters. Kevin should've used this voice for Elmo too.

Hoots the Owl is back on the show now. His eyes look a little different now, but he's still the same owl. At last year's Thanksgiving Day Parade in the Sesame Street float, Elmo and Hoots were pretty close next to each other, maybe cause Clash was operating both puppets at the same time?
