Despite any rumors, Tim Burton has no control over the Haunted Mansion Holiday layover. If you pick up the Nightmare Before Christmas 15th Anniversary DVD, it tells you the story of the ride itself in the Disney Backstage section. Tim himself is described to enjoy the ride.
In closing, The Nightmare Before Christmas is owned by Disney, therefore DISNEY only can control the ride, not Tim Burton
