Yeah, I really didn't like A:R. The clips in this review reminded me of how nauseating all the teeth and venom were. The first film is my favorite purely for its suspense, and the second one was amazing because the shear scale of the landscape and the pace of the action. I found the third a little too dismal, but it held its own in the series. But I really didn't find too much to enjoy about A:R, except maybe that it was easier to see the aliens on the screen. :P

This is what happens when a film studio (20CFox) sells out and stops financing movies as art and just tries to "cash in". Alien3 was tolerable but Ressurection, AVP, and AVP2 are ****ing abominations to this legendary series.
How do you go from being one of the most original and terrifying movies in history to the PoS that is the AVP series? How? I am waiting for someone to explain this to me.

"Resurrection" was such a weird, convoluted addition to the series. It like "Alien 3" ruined the series and the whole concept of the "clone" Ripley really didn't do it for me. "Alien" and "Aliens" are two companion pieces that stand alone for me.

I'm surprised so many people didn't like this movie. I thought it was great. It wasn't meant to have the suspense of the first movie. It was intended to be more of a theme park rail ride... where you enjoy it for the action, the effects, the sound and the sets. I think they did a great job in that regard. In particular the scene where that guy is polishing his shoes in the begining and where the other crew are idly passing time is sci-fi done correctly.

i thought all the alien films were great, kinda different take each time and at the same time revealing more about the alien species and that universe. I must admit i couldn't watch these critics talk about it, they seem out of touch with the lore of it (e.g: that human life, ethics and morality are still expendible for a 'percentage', so asking which species were the 'real' monsters in this series).
