The thing with Kenneth Mars' performance vs. Will Farrell's, for me, is that Mars makes you believe he actually was a nazi, that he's this character. He's a little scary. Will's version is more loveable, it's Will Farrell playing a nazi. He doesn't have that psycho-dangerous side that Mars brings to it, that makes Mars' performance rounder. But, at least Farrell brought his own interpretation of the character, unlike Broderick's Bloom which is just an imitation of Wilder's.
