Yeahhh this chick is so totally wrong, especially for ethnic hair! 1) She said she WASHES her hair with shampoo every morning? That's one of the most damaging things you can do. Most curly girls now know that a co-wash is much better, and shampoo with sodium laureth sulfate is a big no-no. 2) Towel dry??? The cotton fibers in towels cause instant frizz, especially when hair is wet after a shower. Products should be applied when hair is sopping wet and then it can be scrunched with a t-shirt.

i have hair a lot like hers, and its best to get as much moisture out as possible, without using a blow dryer before you put product in.
and a towel works just fine.

I don't know if this'll help, but I go to an Aveda Institute (Las Vegas) and know all about the product. What she used in the vid is a curl ENHANCER, that's the key word. It only enhances the natural curl in hair, it will not create curl if your hair is naturally straight. We get clients asking the same thing all the time :) Just a heads up for ya!

she's not wrong, but neither are you... it all depends on your hair type... i know for a fact that her regime wouldn't suit me, but something akin to greenodonata would... it's all about researching your hairtype, finding out what your curl pattern is, and then finding the best regime suited for it. most curlygirls agree tho: air-dry for the win (as for towels, they say microfibers are good... they wick away the water leaving your hair to dry faster without creating frizzums)
