Why would Howard ask for Michaels Tony "Disneydanny". I'm not putting down anyone else but like "padevitt" said Michael deserved every award he ever got for Phantom or anything else hes ever done. Michael was the most amazing Phantom ever and if you saw him or watched his live clips you might see why most people love Michael and his brilliant interpretation. I'm sorry you hate Michaels Phantom "54spiritedwill54" and think Butler is the best. You have a right to your opinion though so I respect that. I guess I just feel bad for Michael because he worked so hard to develope a great voice and originated this role and truly loves and understood the charactr so well. I definetly agree Michaels voice is waaaaay beyond Butlers and I LOVE how Michael talks! He sounds like a very young Cary Grant. It's so damn sexy. Acting wise though Butlers not a bad actor BUT I saw Michael as the Phantom and Michael is a better actor as well in that role. Nothing personal against Butler but I can see why Michael won all the awards for Phantom! Mike combined great singing, great acting and a sexy seductiveness that nobody has equaled in Phantom.

I love "The Fantastic World Of Michael Crawford" as well. It's a great documentary and a very interesting look into one of the best entertainers ever "padevitt". Like you I will always Love Michaels Phantom the most. Also check out the "Sunday Morning" interview that Charles Karault did with Michael. The line about children with aids and the Phantom will make you shed a tear or two! Thats on YouTube along with his "E.T. interview and "Inside The Actors Studio" one. Take care and God Bless!
