While the origins of the structure/main riff of this song vary (R.Johnson,J.Reed, M.Waters' "She Moves Me"); there is no doubt Bo recorded it first in 1955,a full year before Muddy's backhanded swipe at Bo's impudence/audacity/younger age in the title of his single "Mannish Boy". But there is also no doubt as to how powerfully Bo could "preach" this Historically significant mantra of the cycle/struggle of black Oppression/Redemption/Emancipation to an often transfixed audience. RIP my friend.
