The movie shows no scenario for the kill of Van Richthofen. He takes of for his last flight, screen goes blach and he's dead.

"Flyboys" is a Joke. Historically, and as an action movie/drama, it simply blows. The "Blue Max" was better, in that there were reinacted flying sequences with convincing (well, for the most part) aeroplanes, and a better story line.
Hollywood should know better, and do better...

One of the arguements i've heard is that brownn did not fire at him in the right time frame as the baron would have died in thirty seconds from the severity of the wound. What this doesnt take into account is just how different human physiology can be from person to person. I have heard of farmers losing an entire arm and managing to walk two kms back to their houses, call for an ambulance and survive for up to five minutes before help arrived. Thirty seconds my ass.

I think the special effects and the dog fight scenes are remarkable (for a german production) The story is good, but it isn't hard to recognize, that many things, especially historical facts, are not true in this movie. Nevertheless, a must-see movie in my eyes;)
