Can you anyone explain why one country would invade another in reaction to a terrorist attack, even if the invaded country did provide salvation for the terrorists?
If you are familiar with The Bible then may I remind you of "an eye for an eye"
I'm not saying to ...( 1 day ago by riflekid44)
I'm not saying to find them in every single country of the world, that's virtually impossible. I'm simply saying to stop people who finance or provide safe havens for terrorists. Besides, if we (the West) don't take any action against these people, who will?
We need to teach them like a little kid that it's not ok to go blow up someone else's country, because apparently they're still unclear of what's right and what's wrong.

Jesus, can you imagine how sad many families would be when they realized the Bush Admin. sent their family members to Iraq just so the Republicans could get more wealthy? Man, some day those people will be REALLY depressed.
Its called ...( 1 day ago by riflekid44)
Its called acceptable losses. Besides, we didn't start the whole bombing of cities until we were harassed in our own countr. After that, we had not just the political, but the moral right to go after terrorists and anyone who openly supported them.
Ps: Collateral damage doesn't define a nation, only the way in which it was perpetrated (exe: on purpose or by accident).

I'm sorry to ...( 15 hours ago by vulcanicoliose)
I'm sorry to disagree, but U.S. has interests in Middle east for decades, which it demonstrates sometimes by bombing (first Gulf War), others by supporting unpopular regimes (Shah in Iran, the Saudi Monarchy), others by producing a foreign policy that benefits Israel and harms Palestine. So yes, America started, that doesn't mean 9/11 was justified, not at all, but that helps explaining how fanatics are still able to convince young men to blow themselves up: U.S. is seeing as a real threat
And if you didn't ...( 15 hours ago by vulcanicoliose)
And if you didn't read yet I suggest you "Slaughterhouse 5", form Kurt Vonnegut, about the bombing of Dresden during WW2, great work about "acceptable losses".
A plethora of ...( 13 hours ago by riflekid44)
A plethora of nations always had interests in the Middle East, not just America. And I guarantee you that if Brazil was in America's shoes, I would have done the same. The rise of international terrorism, the Arab-Israeli conflict and the world economy's dependency on Mideast oil will keep Americans and Europe interested in the region for years to come. I'm not saying this is a war for oil, what i'm saying is that oil fuels an awful lot of geopolitical moves that political powers may have there.
We're still going ...( 13 hours ago by riflekid44)
We're still going to see a lot of military interventions in the Middle East from the West, due to this current crisis. And it is absolutely essential that we in the U.S figure out how, in the long run, to lessen our dependency on foreign energy. Right now we get most of our oil domestically and import the rest from Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, northwestern Africa, Saudi Arabia, and the other southern gulf states (not Iraq). Their oil is being used to rebuild and restore their own country.

Actually Brazil was ...( 22 minutes ago by vulcanicoliose)
Actually Brazil was once inAmerica's shoe when invaded Paraguay in the 19th century in order to protect free trade in River Prata. Thousands died and Paraguay became the weakest nation in South America, instead of its optimistic perspectives before the war. You said it's not a war for oil but almost every argument of yours its about U.S. bependency on foreign oil. If America remais with such vision of the world (I still depend on these dictators so to hell with what happens in their countries)
... the 20th ...( 15 minutes ago by vulcanicoliose)
... the 20th century, every Brazilian administration depended on a very unpopular single-party dictatorship (of the Colorados), and now, that they have finnaly lost their power and the liberals regained control of the country, we are in deep trouble. That was our own fault
We need to teach them like a little kid that it's not ok to go blow up someone else's country, because apparently they're still unclear of what's right and what's wrong.
