Here in Houston I've seen case after case of vulgar excessive expensives by the Oil Company Execs & that doesn't include all the money they're stashing in offshore accts they don't even pay taxes on the interest.
Many billions of dollars have been sucked up by the Oil Companies from the lower & middle classes.
SOMETHING MUST BE DONE. THEY'RE DESTROYING THE COUNTRY. But they don't care now as they're International & have no loyalty to the USA.

We had a report in Houston of 2 Oil Companies (moderate in size) moving operations off-shore -- so the all execs could pull in big bucks & pay no taxes.
If I recall correctly one guy was making about $5 mil per yr, the other about $10 mil.

At 1 Oil Company here in Texas they send a limo out every week to pick up employees (secretaries & all others for a fancy dinner where they can "discuss business".)
Why do this kind of nonsense stuff? Because their profits are so horribly obscene they try to expense everything they can. Still it's a good time to be working for oil companies here in Houston -- one guy I know has a retirement account that has way more than 100 people make in their entire life

I saw the blueprint on 1 home being built here in Houston by a company president who is a supplier for the oil companies.
He & his wife (no kids at home) are building a 7 bedroom, 7 bath home - swimming pool on 1st floor & small swimming pool in 1 bathroom...3 stories, 2 elevators.
Another oil executive is spending $35,000 for a specially designed front door on his new home. With these guys sucking so much money from the lower & middle classes -- money is no object.

Here in Texas we have enuf oil to supply the state's people & we could build a wall around the state as we have enuf refineries to refine it.
Some of these wells have been producing for about 100 yrs so the cost on them is extremely low. I saw one breakdown showing that gas could be selling here for $1.00 per gal & the oil companies still making big profits.
But the Arab countries (pissed at Bush) want $120 barrel SO THEY DO TOO IN TX. They could try to undercut on price - BUT DONT!

Just to let you all know the big oil companies are only making a profit margin of only 9.5 percent. So out here in cali it would be... .38 a gallon. the cost of refining and shipping of gas is roughly 2.16 dollars... our state and fed government get the rest so you figure that 2.54 of the 4.00 a gallon goes to the oil company... the rest to our government.
So if you really want to get technical we should control the profits of the politicans not the big oil.

I suggest looking up the Synthetic Oil Corporation. Oil was about 38$ a barrel when it started. When the project was scrapped oil was at 8$ a barrel and longer a viable project. There is a way around oil and there are friendly alternatives for fuel. It seems everytime we redfine our energy sources the price of oil plummets. The electric car plans were dropped when fuel costs plumeted to 80 cents a gallon here. For the moment I'll just travel less and enjoy my life,
