Man, I wish that a female singer could sing the Phantom's part. It's such an interesting story, with notes that I'm better at hitting than a normal girl's notes. I've always wanted to star in a musical, but I don't live in New York, and I don't know about this, but generally singers aren't actresses. I don't have that much training in acting, either.

Michael Crawford is FANTASIC! I never really liked Sarah as Christine though. I kinda like Emmy better and MC should have reprised his role for the movie.

Training in acting really isn't necessary... If you can act, you can act. It's really best just to get out there and see if you can.
At least, that's my take on it, being an actor myself, and only wishing I could sing.

I disagree with you. Acting is very under-estimated, and NOT everyone can act. Like all skills, it takes time to learn, and you do need teaching or training. I am an actor myself, and there is no way I would able to act as I do without someone teaching me how to really interact with all the aspects of the theatre.

Michael, I never really liked as the phantom. I'm more of a John Owen Jones or Uwe Kroger phantom person. I just feel MC lacked power to his voice. And as for Butler. The whole movie situation I feel very bitter towards because they made a mess of it. Sarah's great however. Emmy's not to bad but I've heard better than her. However I thought her acting was pretty bad. Most of it consisted of her pulling 2 different faces.

If Sarahs great xRedDeathx then Michael is FREAKING awesome to! I've seen JOJ and watched videos of the other gentleman whos not bad but in my opinion Michael has a VERY STRONG VOICE but is also the finest actor to ever play the role. If you bother to watch his live videos or go see him instead of pre-judging then maybe you'll realize why hes an award winning actor. You have a right to an opinion but your spamming multiple MC videos putting the man down and shoving other people in are faces.

Cont'd...I respect all three of these men even though Mike was the best all around actor/singer in the role in my opinion. But because it's only opinion on both of are parts and I respect all 3 men I don't post on sites of people who I'm not crazy about because I know they have fans who do enjoy them. Plus I don't want to come off sounding like a 2 yr. old like "neswerr". If both of you have enough time to waste watching videos of people you don't like then Amen. I wish I had that much free time

I'm sorry, that came out wrong- I didn't mean to say all people can act. I agree. But getting out there and doing it is the best way to learn, at least I've found it to be that way. Personally I don't find training absolutely necessary... It can help (in some cases a TON) for certain, but isn't absolutely necessary.

As much as I adore Gerard Butler's acting abbilty, I'm sorry but he's the wrong actor for the Phantom. Absolutely wrong, And the actress who played Chritine could never top Sarah Brightman.

Dear "NaghurahCathal"...if Emmy couldn't top Sarah(which I agree singing wise ) then why did you diss MC by not even mentioning him when you said Butler was the wrong guy for the Phantom role. Listen to how awesome MC sings this along with Sarah. Plus I saw Michael and Sarah live as well as watching there videos and MICHAEL WON AWARDS FOR HIS AMAZING PORTRAYAL! I like both Michael and Sarah but Mike sang and ACTED this role wonderfully. Butler can never top Michael. I appreciate Mike and Sarah

The original will never be duplicated by future actors. That said, I wasn't fortunate enough to see the production when they performed, but a redoing is happening in San Diego very soon, and mom bought tickets for my b-day. I am so stoked!
