Sorry about all the jerking around. People kept bumping into the tripod, and it wasn't even in the aisle! It was PACKED in the ballroom and there was nothing I could do, short of asking Glen Jacobs to wrestle anybody who got close to the camera, but I wasn't willing to go that far...

On the contrary, neocons are VERY educated and far from ignorant. You are thinking in terms logic but they think in terms of propaganda: that is, what are the optimal words to express an eacceptable answer that might win oover popular opinion or gloss over the REAL issue.

I wasn't really referring to the neocons who are in power. I'm well aware of their level of intelligence and their diabolical methodology and I'd say your perception on that is spot on. However, I was really referring to their supporters who tend to frequent these threads, mindlessly peddling the aforementioned propaganda. When I see things like "Ron Paul '08...Legalize Freedom" maybe I get a bit aggravated & carried away. Legalize freedom?? What does this mean? How? What's the issue this is addressing? Etc. It's a bullshit slogan and I personally find such condecending by nature in that they insult my intelligence - even though maybe the slogan slingers' don't intend too nor even realize they are doing so.

I think political discourse should be confrontational and honest. What it is as far as it's extensions into the public sector (ie where it matters) is mostly PC tongue-wagging and nonsense...and meaningless slogans & soundbites.

What it addresses, albeit not very articulately, is how American freedoms and liberties are very much under attack.
