It is. If you compare UMTS to EDGE on the same hardware with the same OS, you see the difference. This just means that a UMTS (3G) iPhone would seriously rock.

Fair enough. Cept, the battery would probably not. :( I really like not having to charge my phone all week. My treo lasted a day. iPhone, a week. But, alas, I cannot use the data properly in canada. Stupid data rates.

is the e61 on a full speed umts/hsdpa connection. cause here in the netherlands some operators cap umts speeds @ 64kb/s which makes even edge faster. im wondering this because my nokia n95-8gb on vodafone hsdpa (3600kb/ps) seems to load a lot faster for al of the websites

hrhr ich musste kurz schmunzeln als du sagtest "wie man hier sieht, versuchte ich mit nem tipp auf das display die hintergrundbeleuchtung anzumachen...." :D naja meiner meinung nach is es einfacher auf einer *hardware* basierenden Tastatur zu schreiben als auf einer virtuellen (auf display) ich habe mal fuer diesen text die rechtschreibung ausser acht gelassen :P

The E61i doesn't support HSDPA. Only UMTS which is not that much faster than EDGE. Therefor the N95 is much faster.

Ich habe noch nie einen Menschen ausserhalb der Tagesschau ein so akkurates Deutsch sprechen h
ören. Es war mir eine Freude. Ohne diese Leistung schmälern zu wollen empfehle ich eine Karriere mindestens als Zeitansage. Darin dürfte jemand, der -achtung Kalauer-, in seinem Video die Webseite der Zeit ansagt, ja auch schon als geübt anzusehen sein. Hach, wie geistreich, ich !

Ich habe es aufgrund des Videos auch mal getestet (allerdings mit einem Nokia N73) - und das Nokia mit UMTS war auf jeder Webseite wesentlich schneller unterwegs...(bis 50%) AUCH die Zeit-Seite hat auf dem iPhone l
änger geladen, obwohl automatisch eine angepasste Version angezeigt wurde. (Ansonsten getestet: Tagesschau, Heise, eBay, TAZ - alle viel langsamer auf dem iPhone ) Nicht besonders repräsentativ, dieses Video, ich verstehe nicht, wie die Daten zustande kommen.

nunja, dass du das Video nicht verstanden hast, merkt man an deinem Kommentar. Es geht lediglich darum, ob UMTS oder EDGE schneller im Download von Webseiten ist. Und da das UMTS-Handy (egal, ob es nokia ist oder nicht) nur knapp schneller war als das EDGE-Handy, beweist, dass EDGE gar nicht so schlecht und sooooo langsam ist, wie alle Welt behauptet.

österreich) und bin im a1 netz mit gprs eingeloggt. Mein Handy K800i. trotzdem dauert der aufruf aller drei seiten ein paar sekunden kürzer als auf dem video! mit umts kann ich diese geschwindigkeiten überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen, da hab ich bis zu 70 prozent schnellere zeiten!

ß wie der Empfang war, EDGE ist Deutschlandweit ausgebaut, was man von UMTS nicht behaupten kann. Außerdem fällt das eintippen auf dem iPhone mit größeren Fingern deutlich schwieriger als auf einer normalen Keypad.
